Quisqualis indica
Common Name: Rangoon Creeper

Category: Tropicals

Environment:

Description:
Regarded as a zone 10 tropical but deserves to be utilized as a 'root hardy'landscape plant. It was frozen to the ground at our trial garden, located in Sumter County, Florida (Zone 9a) at 18 degrees on January 22, 2009. By early May 2009 it had grown to 6 feet and was producing it's typical mixed pink and red flowers. It has a unique fragrance that some say smells like fruit salad. If you need a plant that gives a tropical effect in your landscape, this plant would be an excellent candidate.
